The L.C.A.B. / THT Transfer Window Thread ....

All 3 are different types of player, although Rodwell is more similar to Felli than he is Adam but i think Adam is much better than Rodwell but if i had the choice of Adam and Felli i'd go with Felli everytime.

But i wouldnt mind a central midfield pairing of Felli and Adam as i do think that would work. Fellaini is a defensive midfielder with great energy and fitness levels and can do box to box and he does like to break things up or bring the ball under control and give it simple or drive on with it. Adam likes to sit in the middle of the park and break forward from there and does like to dictate the play and spray the ball around as he as got great speed of thought, vision and range of passing and those two with them qualities would work, Felli does the dog work and then gives it to Adam to orcustrate(sp) the play and set up attacks and with good player out wide and upfront with good movment would be able to just do that as he spots runs very early and as the passing range and vision to play em in.

Holloway as said today that Liverpool are looking to bring Adam in to possibly replace Alonso as they havnt properly yet and havnt got a passer in the team like when they had Alonso and that Adam could be the answer and although Adam and Alosno arent in the same league, he is capable of going there and doing as good a job as he as all the tools to fill the void left by Alonso IMO.

I see your point, but if that is the case, and he is that type of player, hed be lost with us anyway. We dont spread the play that way, and its not because we cant, we have several players capable of playing many different systems as they are top quality players. But if we are set up to play a certain way, and we are, it wouldnt matter if we actually had Alonso. People would just get frustrated with him (Adam that is) and hed be out of the team, or still with fans on his back.

As has been said many a time, wingers and strikers are what we need...

End product

Hello all. Long time reader - first time poster.

This thread has me wondering: it's been said numerous times that we have no money. The evidence (or lack of it) is apparent in our thinning [quality] squad. How are we in this position? If you look at the outgoing players this year, and balance with those that have come in, and those improved contracts, we must be 2-3 million p/a better off on the wage bill (if anyone knows the actual numbers I'd be interested to know what they are..). Pienaar, Yakubu, Yobo, Nash, Gosling, Ruddy, Jutkiewicz have all gone. All but two should have attracted a fee - even if it's a loan fee for the Nigerians (maybe we didn't get one for either - but everyone else seems to do it).

How do we have *nothing* to spend?

I've read in many places that Everton's debt is 'manageable' or 'serviceable'. There are no stories in the press of Everton's lenders threatening to forclose on the club if we do not make lump sum payments - so really - where is the money going?

I dearly hope my concerns are unfounded and DM will pop up with a player or two over the next week. I fear though, based on what I've read in this thread already, that they are very much - founded.

And it goes on....

Today i reckon it's somewhere near the 93.94% mark that we will not sign a single first team ready player this transfer window.

Which really sucks doesn't it!?

Welcome , lad .

A LOT of it , is PISS POOR Bank deals . Borrow £15m , pay back £25m ... Not literally , but THAT sheeeiiit .

I would ADD , Bellefield / Finch Farm etc , tbh .. but now is not really the time , in truth .

POST , mate .

You didn't imagine it. It was in the Echo on Saturday. Here is what Moyes said: "In the end Mbokani was never really a goer. I did enquire about him and we made an offer to see if we could get him on loan but I think there were bigger offers from other clubs.

“We were ready to match his wages and made an offer which was the best we can but I think he’ll leave on a permanent deal.”

Can't post the link because I haven't got the required number of posts but you can find it on the Echo website, its in the story titled: "Everton FC boss David Moyes confident he can use Steven Pienaar fee to find loan strike star."

He didnt actually say ; WE HAVE APPLIED FOR , AND BEEN GRANTED A WORK PERMIT , alas , however ...

His Agent is Focused , primarily on Wages as , if they are No Go , they wont even GET to the Work Permit stage ...

With respect , mate ,...

It's getting tiresome hearing about us scraping together pennies from loan deals, and getting people off the wage bill to secure potential loan deals. How can we be so, so painfully skint?

Its a fair comment , lad .

MORE than fair , tbh .

Cheers man.

You got any idea about what they think about James Wallace? I heard good things before he went on loan, but havent heard any reports of how hes been doing. Someone said he was in the Adam mould, ie, sits, holds, spreads the play... Ive only seen the bits hes had for us, and thats not much as you are aware...

One thing Everton are good at is we always seem to come out the transfer window's weaker than what we go into them, very rare do we come out any window better off.

The club is run by a gang of idiots and has been for many years.

Goodison Park leaks money like a sieve, and the custodians in charge of the club between 1960 and 2000 didn't fix the roof whilst the sun was shining.

I despise Kenwright, but our problems go a lot deeper than just him. Our executive facilities are a joke, obstructed views, merchandising... list goes on.

Doesn't suprise me one iota. I wouldn't be shocked to hear that we'd sold GP for some magic beans and are renting it back from Brighthouse.

Agreed. Too many financial misgivings about our club to go over them all here.

Such a shame that the net effect of them all is being felt right here, right now, though.

Ano . But IF yous read back 30 pages WE SAID WHEN THE HEITINGA DOUGH IS IN ....

What is it in here ??? Do we all turn into Goldfish when we log on or some sheeeiiit ???

NEXT YEAR ; There's gonna be a MANDATORY EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT .

AT THE FUKN DOOR ...

Stand on me ...

( Nothing personal to YOU , kid Just making a wider point ...)

sorry, must've missed that, was still going on the basis of outgoings before incomings, so if the Pienaar money's being banked, then I really surprised Moyes is not considering his position. Maybe that's what it will take. Perhap's he's holding back 'till the summer, not wanting to leave us it it.
