The Moment You Knew He Had Failed...

Yes mate, but you're not really engaging with my point are you?
I just think your point is a 'gotcha' of some sorts with no real substance. So the board say his job is to stay up? The football is still shocking and we conceded 7 to Bournemouth in a week. If the job is to not get relegated then surely we can pick someone better suited than what's being served up.

Martinez: QPR; At home, 3-0 up and the crowd get on the players backs for backwards sideways football.
Keeping the ball at 3-0 seems a sensible thing to do to me. The same people moaning there were probably crying "game management" when we lost 3-2 to West Ham (after Martinez himself seemingly ran into the pitch and missed a penalty to go 3-0 up).

Give over. The crowd knew and justly poo-pood the poo-poo they were watching.

Moral; never poo-poo a poo-poo.

Not really trying for a gotcha, just trying to tease out what is meant by failing. Who defines it and why?

Reminds me of those "3-0 without Ferguson" chants that some boneheads used to sing, not realising his absence was largely the reason we were 3-0 up. ?
Anyway, on reflection and playing the hindsight card
Martinez:
1) Boxing Day Vs Sunderland, that was the beginning of the end.
2) Then the Palace game.
I just thought - more of Everton That.

Easy to say now I know, but first twinge of apprehension was when the Muriel went up on the side of the main stand.
Tempting fate, I knew there was a word -

Hubris -
    • (in Greek tragedy and what is Everton if not a footballing greek tragedy??) excessive pride towards or defiance of the gods, leading to nemesis.
Edit; Not helped by Kenwright giving him a contact extension after1 season
