I don’t hold it against him that he tried to sign Fellaini and Baines - let’s be honest, it was unlikely to be Moyes deciding on the size of the bids. Woodward made a mess of that whole summer for United.

We got Martinez who had relegated Wigan and promptly took 4 of their players. It’s a bit rich for us to complain about Moyes trying the same.
As Wigan were relegated that in itself shows the madness of taking four of their players. Plus as they had been relegated they were highly likely to be happy to get them off their books. Sure Wigan fans may not have been happy so what i really don't care. I as an Everton fan at that time wasn't happy with Moyes for the way he also came out with the nonsense statement of if a bigger club had come in for any of my players i couldn't stand in their way. Whether he was involved in the bids or not he was culpable.

Well we kept Baines and Martinez probably wanted Felli out anyway, so I think we were happy enough too.

He became too comfortable. There's a big difference between keeping a manager for 6 months to a year and 10+ years, there is a happy medium.
Finishing 12th every season is too comfortable. We were going for 4th and settling for 5th on a sell to buy budget. .. ok I guess being in the bottom 3 with a few games to go was not comfortable the season gone. So we got what we wanted in the end.

I'm sure you'll find lots of Arsenal fans who are unhappy with being comfortable in 5th. I'm also sure lots of Burnley fans were unhappy with being comfortable with 17th. I'm just happier looking up and showing a bit of optimism, but maybe that's just me. Forgive me if I'm wrong but weren't you one of the Benitez acolytes?

Holy wows, he’s counted with an uppercut there. Boom.

I thought so Joseph. Just make sure you vote option C please, bonny lad.

When he came, a place just above the relegation zone it was a worry , he did OK with the money we had - won nothing - has won nothing since he left us ...... This is an old jarg debate a poor man's Gordon Lee IMO

He had your club competitive and playing regular football for a decade with a fraction of the resources your club have had while achieving nowhere near that in the decade since he left mate. The fax speak for themselves.

He had money, we signed the Yak - how many times as he has been sacked since leaving us ?

He has money - we signed the Yak” might be one of your finest yet Joseph.

Isn’t it just easier to admit you got something wrong at your wise old age friend? A sign of a matured soul. You keep digging trenches in edgy positions and the vaults come, they always come.
