For me, I want a manager who we can be proud of who has an aggressive pressing style but also has personality.

They don't have to win everything but they have to have authority about themselves because managing this club is a HUGE job and an honour despite the turds we have be dealt with for the last few seasons.

New Owners, New Ground and New opportunity to raise up from ashes.
Sounds a bit like Thomas Frank to me.

Frank's teams have a habit of shocking runs which just wouldn't be tolerated here. When you look at some of the language used about our current run of mainly drawing, i'm not sure what people would be saying if we had runs where we lost 9 out of 11 and then 14 out of 18 which Brentford have done in the last couple of years. It's a major red flag for me that they seem to have these runs where they just can't even stop the rot with a couple of draws, it doesn't suggest that he's as tactically switched on and flexible as you might otherwise think - either that or he has periods where he effectively 'loses the dressing room' for want of a better way of putting it, and the players just don't perform for long periods.

Why Baines & Coleman? Just cos theyre former players?

For me, its simple...

Former player = Carsley
Upcoming = McKenna
English & experienced = Potter
Foreign = Allegri

That would be my shortlist with perhaps one or two Italians dropped in as well
yes and because the position I'm talking about might be for 5 weeks, you're talking about full time.

Give Moyes the Job til the end of the season, with the kicker if he can average 1.33 points from now till then, he gets a contract for the first year at BM. That makes it feel less temporary for him.

If he only averages just over one it will see us safe and we get to choose a new manager to start July 1st and have a preseason to acclimatise. If Moyes gets us mid 40's then he deserves a crack at it and least we'll have seen some wins to see out the last season at Goodison.
There's no way Moyes would take a 6month contract

I think that's a decent list but don't think Ipswich would let McKenna go to relegation rival. Of them I'd like to see Carsley given a chance.

To quote someone, I forget who , "there is no evidence to suggest that Baines is able to manage Everton first XI"

It wouldnt be a pathway I'd be looking at.

Doubtful we look at a change before the end of December at the earliest I think.
