There's no way Moyes would take a 6month contract

I didn't say it was a 6 month contract. It's an 18 month or perhaps even 30 month one, as long as he hits a performance target till the end of the season.

If he thinks he can turn the ship around and posts a 45/46 point season, which isn't asking for too much then he gets that security.

If he doesn't then the fans would be on his back and not really worth staying on anyhow.

Well that's what I'm saying. He won't take a contract that depends on a points per game return.
Tbh it would be insulting to someone that has a couple of decades of performing to a decent level and a recent European cup win under his belt.

18months would be the minimum he'd take I reckon.

It wouldnt be a pathway I'd be looking at.

Doubtful we look at a change before the end of December at the earliest I think.
If we are going down the relatively youthful and a bit inexperienced route then Carsley is probably top of the list.

Potter has such a chequered history. Excellent in Sweden and decent at Swansea and Brighton but seemed to buckle under the weight of expectation and player ego at Chelsea. I liked his football at Brighton but would be hell of a risk ( as would Carsley).

Allegri - not for me. His glory days in Italy are an awfully long time ago and I'm far from sure that either he or his brand of football would translate well at Everton.

McKenna has the whiff of this seasons flavour . Personally I can't stand him and I don't think that he has the personality to win over the Everton fans.

Sarri / Mancini - proven managers but would only be coming here for the money rather than the opportunity to develop and make an impression/ statement.

Dyche has to go ( obviously) and although I have reservations I prefer anyone on your list and above to him.

That said the decision on his replacement is the single most important decision that TFG will make at Everton. They just have to get it right, glad it's not me making the decision.

Moyes would undoubtedly be the safest option but I don't think I'd like the message that that sends out a fan base that need to be excited and reinvigorated after years of relegation fights and turgid football.

Would probably got the way of Martinez. Decent first season playing attacking, possession football, but couldn't rebuild the defence when Branthwaite is sold and Tarkowski's legs go.

Who's signing that off?

Moshiri who should be out the door in December?

Thelwell who's contract is up in the summer?

And if Moyes had any respect he'd be looking longer term and got enough clout to make demands himself of what he wants from a club.

He's also savvy enough to have a big payout clause if he's sacked.

Moise Kean and Alex Iwobi make up 50% of the income we've made in the last 2 windows
The only way someone like Carsley should be under consideration is if TFG have proper knowledge of him and believe there are key things about his managerial make up and ability that would make him the right manager for us. Under no circumstances should we be appointing a manager on the basis that he used to play for us or because he won a trophy at junior international level.

It's a bit disrespectful to say a "decent" level too. Out the 3 years, he had West Ham basically "best of the rest" which is realistically like 8 other teams who outspend everyone else. Europe twice in those and a cup win.

When you look at coaches and clubs infrastructure, Moyes may not be elite but he's still one of the best to navigate the premier league.

If people want Moyes, you want the 3 years Moyes. Not the 1 season stop gap.

I agree
I was tentative saying 'decent', but figured the odd poor year would be used as some stick against 'good'
He definitely is a status beyond a short term caveated contract anyway, we agree on that.

Moyes did take a contract to the end of the season in his first spell at the hammers, so who knows…. Maybe he would 🤷🏻‍♂️
