I honestly cannot fathom why he is even up for discussion for this job. Imagine how much we'd laugh if the RS had Houlier (who won loads) back - it is just so weak.
Nostalgia. He was so good those first few years, such a breath of fresh air, finding gems like Cahill, Arteta, Baines, Yobo etc. It won't be repeated if we go back though.

THis is it and what irks me most - we have fallen so far that we cling on to very average moments in football that happened over ten years ago. Beating the big 6 3 times in 8 years or whatever it was and a couple of cup runs. Awful that people still laud this as "good times"

It was better times though in fairness, the 90s were horrific bar 10 months of Big Joe. I totally agree with you, but some younger fans these are the best memories they have of Everton.

The only, to be honest, and we kept getting told how great we were 20+ years ago (at the time, obviously, I don't count myself as young anymore :lol:).

Personally I find it more frustrating as we never kicked on and everyone around us down the years seemingly did, or at least got their stuff together, and we lacked in every department, then got brainless new owners who put us into further trouble.

Two options for me.

We go with a big established name, in which case Sarri is the standout

Or we go with a guy with huge potential who's under the radar, in which case we go for Will Still.
Will Still isn't ready for PL football just yet imo, his record is really quite ordinary, lost nearly as many games as he has won 42W 32L, and goals wise concede as much as they score 134GF 111GA overall its a 42% win rate. There is defo something there mate and he is clearly a smart guy but he needs a bit more substance first imo.

Tuchel looks a shoe in for United.

….decent price if you think so;
