Italy fully booked now. Florence, Rome and then Sorrento. If anyone has any tips of good places to eat/drink or whatever?

Been in both Rome and Sorrento, but places are very good. Sorrento is a great place to get a coffee and sit and watch people go by.

Did Rome, Florence and Venice last summer. Will try and think about restaurants, but mainly we just went to whatever pizza place looked nice. How many days are you in each place? If you're planning on going to the Uffizi book tickets online/the day before. Had to queue for about 2 hours just to get tickets when we went.

Florence for three nights.

Rome for three nights.

Sorrento/Naples/Amalfi Coast for five nights.

...I think most of the main operators have late deals (Thomson, First Choice etc), always best looking in conjunction with reviews on Trip Advisor.

My wife works in Education so we usually go about August time.

It is the wet season that time of year but in the two times we have been we had one full day of rain. Weather is fantastic all year round.

..yep, I read to avoid it in the early part of the year because it's typhoon season. I might do it around this time next year.

Book it all individually, mate. Flights from Ryanair or Easyjet (they're the cheapest for European flights) and then get yourself a decent Airbnb.

Started using Airbnb about 18 months ago and haven't booked a hotel since - great platform.

I go on a lot of city breaks and do as you say, used airbnb numerous times and are a fan like you. Haven't had a beach hol gor 3 years though and the missus wants to go on them so we'll want a little complex somewhere with onsite bar, pool etc. Hopefully near a city though as I get bored easy on them hols.

Anybody spent anytime in the Boston area? Thinking of going next year for a big birthday (gulp) - always wanted to explore Stephen King country so want to hire a car and drive around Maine
