Think Hibbo is kept around for his veteran prescence in the dressing room and mentoring the young guys, hence why he rarely sees the pitch.Players do get old and are less capable than in previous seasons and Howard is no exception to that. It is a question of recognising when that point has been reached and for the club to say thank you for all your years of service but good bye. With any player it is difficult for the club to perceive that and call time. Hibbert is another example but he was given a contract extension and has barely played all season but picked up his wage for what. With regards to Howard I think we will find that he remains the no 1 choice for next season, he will not be leaving I am sure of that.
Other players who will fall into the this conundrum are Osman, Pienaar, Barry, when does the club call time, they are regardless of the odd good game holding the club back and blocking the advancement of young players.

Definitely. People moaned so much about his new contract, it blatently had coaching future roles in mind. I'm sure of it.
And only used as player when really really needed.
Let me get this straight Ijjy, the club think Hibbo was a great full back, hardly went down the wing, hardly put a cross in, never scored, made many a cock up in defence and the club want him to coach the young players, interesting!
He can teach our youngsters loyalty and how to make millions with minimal talent.Let me get this straight Ijjy, the club think Hibbo was a great full back, hardly went down the wing, hardly put a cross in, never scored, made many a cock up in defence and the club want him to coach the young players, interesting!
Haha!
PWOPPER BLU DOH INHE?
He can teach our youngsters loyalty and how to make millions with minimal talent.
His loyalty has inspired vastly more talented players to perform well. Look at what's happened this season without him.Does that win games? get us up the table to win the title and into Euro?

Wow, back to the Hibbert argument.
I have pondered this argument for over a decade and wish to take a sober, considered
view.
He is/was [Poor language removed]. ( other than his in first year as a regular).
So are you, me and the rest on here does not make us a great coach! But I do not know for sure, you may have all the coaching certs under the sun. In which case you would be very qualified.
