Agree with some previous posts. I think we will have to be incredibly lucky with injuries to stay in and around top 4. Enjoying being up there whilst we are. Just nice to not despise watching us for a change.

Cliché, perhaps, but I think these next two fixtures are big for the rest of the reason.

We've started off great - 4 wins (2 of those away from home with one being Spurs) and a draw from a very tricky derby. These next two against Southampton and Newcastle are very winnable despite being away, so if we pick up 6 points there it'll signal to me for sure that we're a different proposition and we'll be competitive all the way.

Yes we should to see where we are after 10 matches, but since this threads already here I will point out that Europe schedules are crazy this year, and I feel like that's bound to help us. Here's what CL/EL teams schedule's look like before we play them in November and December.

11/7 man u 7th game in 20 days, 3 days after returning from Istanbul
12/12 chelsea 7th game in 22 days
12/15 leisceister 8th game in 25 days
12/19 arsenal 9th game in 29 days
12/22 man u 10th game in 31 days (cup semi)
12/28 man city 12th game in 36 days

Admittedly we'll be on our 5th game in 16 days by the time we get to that Man City game, but those other teams will all have been going at that pace for a full month before then.
Brilliant post, great stats on their fixture congestion! This is what I’m trying to get at with this thread. Of course it’s too early but there are so many positives from the start both in what we’re doing well and our challengers are doing badly.

Remember the days of hoping for 40 points for safety, seem an awful long time ago now (when in reality was only last October)

Enjoying the ride right now. Its good fun being an Everton fan at the minute. Hopefully get another 3 wins minimum from the next 5 games (saints toon, united, Leeds, fulham) and we are nicely set up. But a long way to go yet, let's just enjoy it game by game.

Spurs squad looks much better than ours but they have issues right now. I think the likes of them, United and Chelsea will hit good form at some point so we need to try and get as many points whilst they´re stuttering.

Sadly we don't have enough up front in rotation only Dom and Richy is not enough we also lack on the right behind James. I think we will be in the europa league mix.

Doesn't help when our players are sliding into mad challenges and either getting themselves injured or suspended.

The whole mentality of some of our players has to change if we are to win stuff - even DCL not hitting the floor in the penalty spot.

James aside we have no natural winner who knows how to play the game.

Silly to think about this until after Man U at least,

We finished 12th last year and have very limited depth up top, I still think a europa spot would a very good result from this season
