yep, take nothing away from it. we got a horrific injury list at a terrible time and we've had to play both our rivals away in 6 pointers at totally the wrong time.

it's those kind of breaks that are the difference in football sometimes.
Yea but lets be honest both them rivals are rubbish and we should be out of site considering the ace team we have.

Think we played very well overall today. We where just missing a true Striker. Naismith just isn't strong or good enough to lead the line and neither is Mirallas. Still we should have won, we played well enough to merit all 3 points.

Still think we have a good shot at 4th place even thou 5th is most likely. Just got to stay positive, we are getting healthier with Barkley, Pienaar, Deulofeu, McGeady, Lukaku and Traore all getting back to full fitness, so we should have a full strenght squad on the comming weeks. Its all about winning against the teams we should and atleast getting a result against the ones around us. Spurs, ManU and Liverpool will drop points, 5 points from 4th is not alot, we are still definitely in it.

The injuries have completely scuppered out momentum. Even when we had a set back prior to the injuries the team had the belief we'd go out next time and get a result. We've had to make so many changes all over the park over the last couple of months that gaining that momentum back has been difficult. What we now need is a couple of really good back to back results and getting our main boys match fit and raring for the final push this season. We have that perfect opportunity in our next two home games to get that flow back. The perfect and plausible response now would be two wins and an impressive performance against Palace/Swansea.
I must admit, I was in fume mode right after the game and actually I see no harm in it from a personal point of view. Lets off a bit of steam, so I can understand why people come on here and have a little moan. GOT is like our Dr. Melfi.

Couldn't say it better myself.

Watched Roberto's interview, think he is putting a brave face on what has been a cock up, not just in the team starting or the subsequent performance but the lack of adding a striker of some sort in January having having disposed of a Jelavic.

Again I ask if players are not fit why are they selected as subs. Why was Troare on the bench and not tried for even ten minutes? Absolute bull****.

So why start Osman and Naismith when we have Ross and Del available or even Mcgeady.

The ones ****ging Martinez off, need to remember not even mourinho wud get a bean out of Naismith. Martinez is a top manager but not a miracle worker

So.

It was always going to be a struggle. No out and out striker on the pitch had the odds stacked against us from the start - if a game summed up just how badly we need greater financial resources, this was it. Naismith is genuinely awful and Mirallas never looked comfortable. The best chances we had came from Osman who, in fairness, was denied by some pretty good goalkeeping. If that early strike had gone in, the balance of the match would have been oh so different.

The difference between the two sides was summed up with the goal. We had played well but struggled to exploit gaps - they were god awful but took the one chance that came their way in style.

Fourth is gone now. In reality, it wasn't ever there without major investment in the January window. As I said earlier, though, it doesn't matter to me. Finishing in the top six is a big achievement, especially when you look at the quality of the teams around us.

Did everything bar score to be fair. Other than their goal Howard didn't have a shot to save....the defence and the two central midfielders restricted Spurs to one clear chance on their own patch, whilst our makeshift offensive set-up created, and unfortunately missed, several good opportunities.
Its all about fine margins. if one of Ossies chances had hit the net we would likely have been comfortable winners.
It's a transitional season and IMO we are further Ron in that transition than the majority thought we would be. We are restricted with finances, but we are rich in tactical nouse and togetherness - I expect it will come good next season IF we find a goalscorer.

He had a really good first half, I'm not going to keep repeating it. He laid Osman off a few times (who should've scored at LEAST once) and should've been played in by Kev, he did absolutely nothing wrong. Then second half he got pushed out wide. Sick of Nais getting stick. Going to start throwing negs around soon.

I'd almost prefer the loveable scamps to get 4th ahead of Spurs, how they are so far up the league is an utter mystery. They've been dire all season yet are somehow ahead of us, just irritating.

Release Traoré on Wednesday.

Honestly, how bad wasn't Spurs today? We dominated the whole first half, but the goal never came. We looked pretty exhausted in the second half. That's why we conceded 1 goal and never scored 1. We're still in the race though, hopefully Fulham will smash RS. 3 points against Palace, COYB!
