Travel thread 3.0

Maybe this is not the fault of Manchester Airport but it is still the worst airport I have had the misfortune to take a flight from

I was right in the thick of this yesterday.

4-5 hour delay, eventually got to Cyprus, but cases still in Manchester, and I was one of the lucky ones.

Got a long weekend in August (thurs to mon), thinking of going away somewhere (not too far, mainly Europe) that I haven't been before. Love places like Barcelona, Nice, Bilbao etc. Been to Paris, Madrid, Munich, Warsow, Vilnius and Kaunas, most of the main Italian cities (north of Naples). Pref somewhere with culture/achitecture to see, but good socail/night life as well. Poss on the sea/water. What would ppl recommend?

Got everything mostly hammered out for an upcoming trip with my girlfriend. Going to be in England for a couple weeks in Sep.

London for the first several days, taking the train to Liverpool for a 4 days there, Stena Line to Belfast for a day, flight to Paris for a day, then Eurostar back to London for the remaining 3-4 days. Two weeks in total.

I've been to England before but haven't traveled much while I've been there. I try to stay in one spot but my partner has never been out of the US and I figured this would be a good way to hit as much as we can. Going to the Palace game while in Liverpool, and also my first ever time visiting the city. Cannot wait.

If you want somewhere not obvious but well worth visiting try Cluj-Napoca in Romania. 2nd City and great. I think Wizzair fly from Liverpool (or they did).

Krakow in Poland is fabulous, truly beautiful city.

Ghent in Belgium has a stack of festivals in August, as another not obvious choice.

Porto maybe. Nice city on the Douro. Plenty riverside bars. Not too insane tourist wise and fairly cheap.
