Travel thread 3.0

We're going to Europe for 5 and a half weeks in October/November, going to Paris first and taking the kids to Disneyland for a couple of days then a few more days in the city itself, then down to Madrid for 3 days. Flying from there to Ireland getting a car bit of sightseeing, ferry over to Scotland from Belfast. Then I think we have maybe 15 days driving around before spending a few more days in London and then the wife has insisted on taking the kids to that Christmas joint in Finland for a couple of days then a night or 2 in Helsinki before flying home.

I'm not sure the timing of it will get me to any Everton games, there's an international break while we're in England to add to that as well but shall see.

If you want somewhere not obvious but well worth visiting try Cluj-Napoca in Romania. 2nd City and great. I think Wizzair fly from Liverpool (or they did).

Krakow in Poland is fabulous, truly beautiful city.

Ghent in Belgium has a stack of festivals in August, as another not obvious choice.

Porto maybe. Nice city on the Douro. Plenty riverside bars. Not too insane tourist wise and fairly cheap.

Marseille always option if looking for something close by.
Thanks for the tips guys :) 👍
Yeah, @davep's post has got me thinking about city breaks now. Love playing the game of 'what random destinations are on offer from x airport on these dates'.
Haha, yeah that's not a bad shout. Just buy whatever is the cheapest flight that day! :o

Looking at some of the flight prices at the minute, looks like the age of cheap flights is over, or much harder to find anyways.
Never tried just booking a flight on the day. Can you get good deals?
No idea, never tried it! Will see what I can find when I have some free time this w/e hopefully.

6 weeks to go until we fly to Japan, flight paid for by my daughter for my 60th. She asked me just in conversation about where I'd like to go, Japan or Argentina (Tierra Del Fuego). Since I was a child Japan and Iceland are the two countries I've always wanted to visit, done Iceland twice and the natural wonders there have to be seen if you ever have the chance. I'm sure Japan will be worth the 50+ year wait.
