VAR

I still think it's a good thing because the bloke on the street now is seeing evidence regularly of how corrupt the game is. Course there'll be an odd decision every now and then that goes against the "bigger" teams but it's becoming more and more apparent how the system is skewed against those trying to break the glass ceiling.

Keep goalline technology but ditch VAR.
And don't award pens unless it's absolutely stick-on. Like the goalie pulls a gun on the striker.
It won't happen. There's too much funny money involved in the game now.

Move on from the fact that they 'forgot' to put the little line on the picture, but if you have to resort to magnifying that little line to see if a bit of heel is on or offside then it's time to scrap the whole shebang.

Didn't they blatt on about clear and obvious or something??

If the metaphorical magnifying glass has to come out - then its not Clear and Obvious.
and it isnt.

Then its 'Benefit of the Doubt' For the Attacker.

No magnifying glass - No Problem.

100% this regarding “clear and obvious”!
Offsides should also only be based on the position of the player’s feet - it’s an absolute nonsense that players have been given offside because an elbow, knee or even part of a head has been the wrong side of what is inevitably a badly drawn line!

Agreed.
To me VAR is to assist the officials. The officials should make the decisions.
If VAR cannot determine evidence CONTRA to the officials within 30secs of a goal (before the restart) then it shouldn't be used because it's not clear and obvious. After all, offside is only important upon the occurrence of goal.

It won't happen because too many people have a vested interest in the technology.
