I'm making no assumptions here and classing this as a tricky fixture. They did batter us at home afterall but another win please lads. Need another 3pts here boys as I have a funny feelings Leeds might get a result vs an out-of-sorts Chelsea. Frank might need to freshen things up a bit. Maybe start El Ghazi and/or Dele. UTT

I forgot El Ghazi was even a thing.

What gives me hope is that Watford have nothing to play for and may have their flip flops on.

That is exactly the kind of thought that worries me!!

They can finally just head out for a nice game of footy with no pressure, no worries at all.
Or they could walk out on to the pitch with the only thought in there mind being - we might be down but we can still play a major part in who we want to join us...

you are right. I'm just being bullish.. Watford could be a danger to us. Any team could be a danger to us. Or we could be a danger to them. Who knows.
But you are right about relegated teams. I once remember Sunderland many moons ago getting relegated. They were rubbish all season. But when confirmed as relegated , they went crazy in their last couple of matches. They I think beat some team 5-0. And another I think 6-2.
So I do know that relegated teams can still win football matches.
But we need to be ready for Watford. Stop them playing...
Isn't that what this is all about. Winning football matches. Up to us to take the sting out of their tails.
Can't have us beat before a ball is kicked.
Two wins and I think we’re over the line.

For me, the first thing is don’t get beat. If our away support is as raucous as on Saturday, then we stand a much better chance of winning.

Norwich were in the same position against West Ham, and they did a job on them. We just need to stay professional and do the same. No need to go all out attack, we can take our time, give them the ball with no space, and pick them off as we did on Sunday. We just need to make sure we are clinical in front of goal and get the shots off when we have the chance.

I’d be loathe to change the formation whenever that has been picking up the recent points.

Would be good to freshen up the team but can we really afford to rest anyone? Not for me- two cup finals coming up.

Kenny starting would worry me though, praying Mykolenko or least Godfrey is fit for left back.

Oh, I think the only sane assumption to make is that Leeds will beat Chelsea. We've managed to somehow find the key to unlock our cell door, but now we have to put it in the lock. There's been a lot of celebratory back slapping about how great the fans are and how good a job Frank has done lately (both fair points), but the timing is all wrong. We are far from out of the brown stuff. Lose tomorrow and combine that with a Leeds win and a lot of people are going to be looking very silly indeed. Worse, the rest of us will be in full panic mode - again. This is our chance to pretty much get free. It really does need to be grasped with both hands. Failure to do so is asking for trouble.

Yeah having Kenny and Keane in the back again is giving me nightmares.

I actually think the players are going to be hungry for this, knowing that a win here will almost put them over the line and they can, with a bit of luck, breathe a huge sigh of relief at Goodison with the fans on Saturday.

There should be no celebration for this season or achieving safety, and the players ought to be fearing for their futures, but a couple of the fringe players will probably feel they've done enough to stay as part of the Lampard project into next season, namely Holgate, Iwobi, Doucouré and probably even Keane, although it wouldn't concern me if any of them were to be sold.

Obviously Mina will miss this, and I'm not sure if Delph can start 3 games in a week, so I see something like this:

Pickford
Coleman Holgate Keane Mykolenko
Doucouré Allan Alli Iwobi
DCL Richarlison
Ought to be enough freshness to give them a good game and solid enough in midfield to not get dominated.
