Why are the board acting like Rooney is our equivalent to Ole, Lampard, Gerrard etc
Not being qualified for the job at all is one thing but he’s not exactly an Everton legend. He came back for one season when he was old and fat
Plus a stichedon hairpiece - so he would have been Bawldy, Fat & old....... Still he was a great player till he was sold .'.....never the right manager for us just yet though .......Why are the board acting like Rooney is our equivalent to Ole, Lampard, Gerrard etc

Plus he's played the game at the highest level ....….he’s not as old and fat as Benitez, though.
If he was a random manager with that CV people would be laughing the idea off as total fantasy and then absolutely furious if it turned out to be true. He's got one year of experience managing at a lower level and has a 25% win rate there wouldn't even be a discussion if he wasn't Wayne Rooney. Nobody thinks Jonathan Woodgate should be in with a chance of the job for example. If he were some rando with the same coaching cv, he’d be neither a top candidate nor dismissed out of hand, he’d be one of a dozen or so “meh” names getting longish odds from the bookies

He has managed pretty well considering he’s lost half the team and is basically relying on a couple of journey men and half his academy to steer a sinking ship.!If he was a random manager with that CV people would be laughing the idea off as total fantasy and then absolutely furious if it turned out to be true. No just looks like it.
I'm not saying he hasn't i'm just replying to the post saying there wouldn't be strong feelings on it if he was just a random manager by saying there definitely would. Nobody would entertain the thought of us appointing a manager who only has one year of experience which consists of being manager of a team that escaped relegation from the championship on the last day of last season and is bottom of it this season if they weren't a big name from playing. He might be the next big thing I'm not saying otherwise but if he wasn't Wayne Rooney nobody would think there was any truth to the rumours and they'd be right. He has managed pretty well considering he’s lost half the team and is basically relying on a couple of journey men and half his academy to steer a sinking ship.!
[Lampard for me before Benitez was appointed....TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOULampard's Chelsea team were excellent in his 1 season of actual real football, with a transfer ban, after Hazard was sold. His defensive record was fine that season as well. If people want to judge him on a season of fake behind doors football, and because he isn't Thomas Tuchel, then fine. But I find that pretty irrational to be honest, because someone of the calibre of Tuchel is not coming near our mess of a club.
