Wayne Rooney

For me i'd like to see Rooney make some progress with Derby before being considered for Everton manager, and the state Derby are in with the points deductions, staying up would be a great achievement. But he's only been in the hot seat for a short time.
Stevie Gihad is spoken of as a potential RS manager when Klopp moves on but after a couple of years at Rangers he knows he has to show he is up to managing in the premier league over the next couple of years at Villa if he will be a serious candidate for the job.

The thing that strikes me is that I haven't seen a single post about the way he sets teams out, how his in-game management is, have players improved under him etc.

We just seem to have people that either like him or don't like him, and that appears to be the most important prerequisite for them.

For a team which is underperforming the way we are, I would have thought a critical analysis of his mangerial abilities would be more important than something he did when he was 17.

Rooney was a winner on the pitch and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him translate that into management but it’s definitely too soon to say for certain that will happen. Gerrard did enough at Rangers to show he was ready for the next step.

I’ll freely admit to not watching much Championship football. Might have to change that habit when Everton are there!

Bit sad that we're the joke club of the prem, all in all.

I wonder if it's irreversible? Like once you reach Newcastle levels of indignity that's it, you can never get respect back. Hopefully not, a passing phase...

If Everton even had any thoughts of Rooney becoming the Boss, that would just add to all the other stupid things they have done, how can someone who has been a Boss 5mins, and not really done anything special be linked to us just because he was an ex player and who he is, This would be a Massive No for me

Lampard's Chelsea team were excellent in his 1 season of actual real football, with a transfer ban, after Hazard was sold. His defensive record was fine that season as well. If people want to judge him on a season of fake behind doors football, and because he isn't Thomas Tuchel, then fine. But I find that pretty irrational to be honest, because someone of the calibre of Tuchel is not coming near our mess of a club.
Bit of a difference managing Chelsea as opposed to this spineless group of cowards
