Wayne Rooney

I'm not against the idea of having a young coach, who achieved so much in the game that players would respect and look up. The fact he's a blue as well sounds great.

However! Not sure the answer to the above is Rooney :)

Rooney was a winner on the pitch and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him translate that into management but it’s definitely too soon to say for certain that will happen. Gerrard did enough at Rangers to show he was ready for the next step.
I cannot adequately put into words how much I detest the "winner" argument.

It was liberally thrown around this place when he rejoined us as a player. Funnily enough, we didn't do a lot of winning then, either.

He might have managerial traits that we're crying out for. If so, great. What he achieved on the pitch has precisely zero to do with how he'd perform as a manager, though.

Rooney was a winne

If Everton even had any thoughts of Rooney becoming the Boss, that would just add to all the other stupid things they have done, how can someone who has been a Boss 5mins, and not really done anything special be linked to us just because he was an ex player and who he is, This would be a Massive No for me
*listens - I can hear the odds dropping as you were typing that

Which is more than wazzer has up to now.

Which is worse Basket case or laughing stock? as we seem to be both.

Good job im not arguing his case as manager then, hence why I said it’s too early to say if he’s up to the Everton job.

When he rejoined us as a player he was finished. But he had a very very good career at the top level and won a lot of trophies.

And the other crap thing, is IF he come and did well....United will take his as soon as they want.
To be fair, that's true of any manager that showed the ability to turn this mess of a club around. Only reason it took so long with Moyes was SAF not retiring when originally planned.

Best we can hope for is a manager to come in for 3-5 years and leave us with a young, well-balanced squad heading in the right direction.

The days of managers staying at clubs for 10 years are more or less over. Even super successful ones like Klopp and Pep know they have a shelf life. If someone can come here and get us going in the right direction for 3 years then I’d snap your hand off.
