What a window!

I really know nothing about McCarthy but I am quite happy to go with Martinez on this one. I am really happy with the window, lets hope it changes our results straight away and they play from day 1.

Redcafe has exploded with people saying we have signed a better player and sent them Fellaini. Ive never watched him, but fans of other clubs think he is excellent

People would have been more upset if 32 year old Barry had signed a 3 year deal.

Its a no brainer Barry tbh. Osman has looked awful so far this season. He is an improvement on him.

Actually think Deulofeu might stay another year also tbh if successful. Its not unheard of, he will still be only 20 and realistically, hes not going to be going into the Barca team any time soon.

If Lukaku works though we need to break the bank to get him permanently. Hes a kid with the body of a brick 5hithouse. 17 goals in 20 starts for WBA gets everyone excited.

I could be wrong here, but im sure I heard on the radio yesterday that City wanted to sell Barry as he is in the final year of his contract? Therefore, the loan, if it works out, you would think he would just sign on with us after a year if he plays well and has a good season?

Could be a good bit of business that one.

Excited about Lukaku, but gutted its a loan. Id like to see us try and secure him permanently using the £15-18M we must be in profit from the deals this year when it comes to the Jan window. We should be above giving players for prem teams game time imo. Think he will be a monster for us and we will be like WBA next summer when he goes back and we look lost.

Made up with McCarthy. Paid about £4M too much...but considering Man U could have had Fellaini for £23.5M no questions asked and we somehow got £4M more from them...its balanced itself out.

We best never go back to Whelan again and get our kecks pulled down though. Fuming with him looking the big dog again on sky last night mugging us off and getting his own way again

We passed on the inflated price to Manu. He pulled their kecks down rather than ours if you want to put it like that.

I'm probably the minority on this one but am really stoked we got Barry. Provides the type of leadership that we've been sorely lacking. Massive improvement on Osman.

why are people bothered about spending money? i seriously dont get it.

Have we ended up with a far better team? yes we have.

would you have been happy if that cost us £10m?

You're missing the point. United offered £35m for Khedira and Herrera - that's the price we should have held out for.

Barry's and Lukaku's wages and loan fees, and Standard's cut of the Felli money, could add up to over £12 million. Add that to the McCarthy fee and you'll see the Felli money is all gone. Every penny.

So when Barry, Lukaku and Deulofeu's loans end in June, we'll be back to needing a a CM, an RM and a CF, just like we did two days ago, but we'll have nothing to purchase them with because we sold Felli too cheaply and then panic-purchased. And guess what? That's when we'll lose Mirallas or Barkley.

I wouldnt go as far as to say he is better than Fellaini atm. But he is only 22 and has 3 years of development on him. Think he will turn into a big player for us, high hopes for the kid. He needs to be a bit more arrogant though, needs to realise how good he could be. Too nice at times, needs to be a bit nasty and if he can bring that to his game he could be a top DM

Just been speaking to a city fan, Barry is in the final year of his deal with city so is a free agent at the end of this loan.

See how it pans out and how much he wants weekly when the season is done.

Good window, we're sweeping out the old and bringing in the new to facilitate new ideas, there was a determination and aggression from the club imo last night stood up to Utd as well.

We've needed this for years, I am fookin chuffed.

Had we signed Lukaku permanantly then it would have been a decent window.

As it is we've shipped out our best midfielder, and replaced him with Barry/McCarthy, both decent but nowhere near Fellaini particularly where goal scoring is concerned.

We've lost Anichebe and replaced him with Kone. Jury out but I don't see Kone as an upgrade.

Then we've bought in Lukaku, an excellent young player but only on loan.

So what happens next summer?

People completely looked over it last night in the excitment but keeping Baines this window is amazing!

Noises coming from the club all summer were that we were open to sell fellaini - he had the clause, we couldnt do anything about it - but Baines wasnt going anywhere.

We actually backed that up by rejecting £15M for him yesterday and im delighted. Didnt think he would ever force the issue. Top pro, top lad and for once im actually inclined to give BK some credit by keeping hold of him. Needs a new deal - this week or next

United didnt offer thos figures. Madrid were just using the Khedeira as a pr exercise because of Ozil. And what the Mancs did with Herrera is disgraceful. They have burnt their bridges with spanish players i think.

£27.5m for Fellaini is stunning business, he isnt worth close to that!

Loans are now a good thing, saved us money and get players in you cant afford. Fellaini wouldn't have scored as many this season as Martinez wouldn't have played him behind the striker, Lukaku should make up for the goals. why are you being so miserable?

Congratulations to Kenwright and Martinez with the nett result of the window! -
you had us all hitting panic stations at times but you ended up showing character and backbone the way you stood up to the patronizing Man United / Moyes plundering ployes.
well done boys !!!
some of our posters unfortunately still live in the past and every success Martinez achieves makes them cringe because they believe that only Moyes could run Everton properly HAHA
