I have no idea why the referee is not allowed to just stop the clock for time wasting, injuries, or VAR.

The whole concept of added time is pointless. Just let the ref say time off and stop the clock. Then the game ends the next time the ball goes out of play with 90 mins on the clock

Prima facie, that sounds eminently sensible...so unlikely to happen.

Thought I might actually get excited about this once the games started but to be honest, it really is not grabbing me. Doesn't help that I watched the John Oliver episode on Qatar, this morning.

Will see what games are on tomorrow and might watch a couple. For me it is Bolton Vs Barrow in the Football League Trophy. World Cup, wherever it was goes to the background
