It’s currently 25 C in Doha and the stadium controlled AC at pitch level works quite well from what I’ve read.

Mexico 86
Italia 90
USA 94
Brazil 2014

We’re probably in the 30’s playing the games.
I have to say the temperature at the Wales v USA game (10pm local time) kick off, didn’t feel particularly oppressive as we queued outside. It felt surprisingly comfortable.

Same inside. I don’t know how much if anything, the air con contributes to night time stadium temperatures, but Doha at lunchtime was not a temperature to inspire thought of any pastime involving much running around.

The Wales v Iran game (1pm local) will be the test.

Outside after the game last night, it was really cool.

First time I’ve seen flags being removed from the pitch-side, because they obstructed the air con outlets. You can see them in the top left corner of this pic.

Let us know how it feels inside the stadium next game.

An observation which caused some mirth on yesterday’s matchday shuttle flight from Muscat to Doha.

Lots of nationalities on board all speedily boarding, observing the luggage restrictions and having fun together.

We had North Wales, South Wales, Senegalese, Argentinians, Iranians, Brazilians and one other nationality.

Happy fans speedily boarding.

This gentleman, who will remain anonymous, let’s call him Hank or Tex. (perhaps his real name?)

He brings on board the biggest “carry on” case ever seen and promptly proceeds to wedge it solidly in the overhead locker. Neither he nor the flight attendants could get it to shift.

Sir, it’s carry-on hand luggage only said the flight attendant. I guess, that as I carried it on, it’s carry on luggage said he.

You only had one job, sang the rest of the plane.

Eventually it got removed after much embarrassed heaving and grunting from Tex/ Hank.

South Walians waiting for the case to be removed.

Reactions like that and the joy and unity football brings does much more to break down barriers than 10 years worth of tut-tutting from the BBC propaganda scum.

Just let us enjoy our football in peace FFS.

The Saudis are well happy I imagine Dave. I don’t think they watch too much BBC ‘tho.

They have (according to my interpreter) just announced a national holiday for today, in honour of their victory, via the announcer on Saudi sports.

Their equivalent of our Geoff announced it.
