First Post on here for a good while with how toxic things have been.
I've felt like Dyche should be Everton manager for a good while now. Believe me keeping Burnley as a PL team for as long as he did( no foregone conclusion they would have sunk with him in charge still) was something I felt...
I mean forcefully halting people's weekend plans because a 96 year old tourist attraction (nice as she may have been) died is utterly absurd and crass IMO.
We play a system where Gordon and Gray play off the sides of our CF as support strikers. That's where Maupay will play. Consider him our Richarlison replacement, he has a very similar goal return and impact over the last 3 years for Brighton. Broja or Brereton Diaz will be the cover for DCL.
Maupay plays the same position as Richarlison and has very similar qualities. Skilful, hard-working, snide, and a handful. Roughly the same age as well.
He's got the look of an Osman type player. Ball looks velcroed to his feet and he tries the forward pass the moment it's on. Seems aggressive too. Hopefully he develops into a regular first teamer throughout this season.
Thing is, the contract he's being offered by us is probably relatively in the ball park of what Chelsea is offering.
What leaves me twisted around is he'd rather be absurdly rich at Chelsea than at his boyhood club. I could give two flips about Champions League, if I was insanely wealthy at 21...
The 3 performances so far have looked more joined up and spirited than anything I have seen from us in 18 months prior.
There's still at least 3 players to come in. I thought the team looked full of belief in themselves and showed great attitude to come back late on and then push for a winner...
