Lukaku was useless on ball. But a expert finisher. Transfer fees have inflated average players, even Richy wasn't perfect. He missed quite a few guilt edge chances, Demarai Gray scored some crackers, but struggled at simple things.

Was Lukaku not like that. We weren't even considering him until the final day if my memory serves me correctly.

I am 65 and can still trap a ball better than Lukaku. Very good at scoring no doubt but a Beto in all other aspects.

...rated him, was because alternative was Maupay. He isn't actually that good, that miss against Villa proved it. DCL is nowhere near as good as Lukaku was. I've said on here I wouldn't rate DCL as any better than Beckford. He had good period other than under Carlo, I think he gets abuse. But no...

...and this is what I meant in the other post...his first touch is worse than Lukaku's, but as often as not he will bang into someone, stretch for it, and keep it long enough to get a pass off.

Spot on. 17 league goals in the last 3.5 years says it all really. Nowhere near good enough, and no team with aspirations to finish anywhere near the European places hangs their hat on a bloke who consistently misses as many chances as he does.

Me too, recruiting has been awful. Needed a striker when Lukaku left. That was the standard and unfortunately we accepted way below that standard for far too long.

...the targets and then Thelwell is charged with cutting the deal within the PSR limits. As far them being hands on,just because he picked Lukaku in his plane doesn't suggest for one minute he's involved in negotiations,it's purely a flex Dan Friedkins part ha Dyche made the call on Dyche...no...

Dan Friedkin literally went to pickup Lukaku/pilot him to Roma mate. TFG will be involved.

That''s not true. Only from 2009 onward was the spending drastically cut. Up to that point Moyes got almost every penny raised in sales. He simply didn't have an eye for a striker and he always misused the ones he did get, forcing them to run channels all day.

...time. Andy Johnson was a relative, Yakubu was a big success until his injury, Saha was a big success. I think you're holding him to an impossible standard. Since he left we have signed one decent striker, Lukaku and that extremely lucky because Bobby BS didn't even want him. He wanted Demba Ba.😂

That was down to the owner Kenwright and you know that, Moyes wouldn't sack himself would you. You're conveniently forgetting the other part of the post Lukaku for Fellaini.

It wasn't a joke it was an insult. As was how moyes described Everton fans after he'd gone. No issue at all with him going. But as soon as he signed as United manager he should have left the building. Instead he and Kenwright gave it a 3 game lap of honour which was an utter disgrace.

The Baines bid was a joke Tbh and we greatest as one, Baines stayed. The Fellaini bid, in the end £27m was excellent as it allowed us to buy Lukaku, so I have no grudges at all towards Moyes, did you blame Moyes for moving to the then biggest club in the Country ?

...bit disgusted how he tried to lowball deals for some of our players, Baines a laughable £5m bid, but he never got him, he got Fellaini for £27m which allowed us to get Lukaku a far better player for us for £28m . So no I hold no grudges against Moyes, more the tinpot leadership we had at the...
