I finally like the bookies' odds regarding Dyche...makes up for the very unlucky defeat againt Arsenal on Sunday.
Allardyce obviously is not everyone's cup of tea but at least Everton are 99% guaranteed to stay up now.
All the Burnley players "got on" with Barton - he was "Players' Player of the Season" in his first spell - 23 games unbeaten. Good second spell also before the FA "betting ban". He would have been offered a new deal but for the ban.
Barton's bust-up and suspension was at Rangers - he behaved...
If Everton had offered Dyche the job the next day after Koeman was sacked, SD would have jumped at the chance.
He still might want the job, but it is less likely now he knows he would almost be a "last resort" and possibly replaced by someone like Silva in the summer even if he does quite...
You may be proved right about Dyche - 3/4 weeks ago I was expecting him to be offered the job but it looked like he was well down the wanted list behind big foreign names, then Allardyce and lately Silva.
Most Burnley fans were very worried before it looked like Allardyce & Silva were in the...
I agree. You could even go further back to when the maximum wage was abolished in the early 60s and Fulham's Johnny Haynes became the first £100-a-week player.
Serious question. Do most Evertonians think a new manager will be named before Wednesday and pick the team for West Ham at home?
Or will Unsworth still be nominally in charge with the new manager watching from the stands?
If Dyche did get the job, he'd want to appoint ALL of his backroom staff - Ian Woan (assistant manager), Tony Loughran (first team coach) and so on and decide which players he wanted to sign. What would happen to the likes of David Unsworth and Duncan Ferguson?
I hope nobody at Everton takes notice of Kevin Ratcliffe who was apparently praising Dyche to the rafters at Goodison last night after covering the Burnley-Swansea game for BBC Wales on Saturday.
If Dyche was not on an original shortlist, I'd be surprised if he is now on a shortlist.
He must know that he is about 14th choice and that the huge majority of Toffees fans do not want him.
Also, he has had a good run of results since Koeman was sacked and might want a top half finish with...
The problem now with Allardyce, Dyche and Pulis is that now they all know they would only be viewed as a "short-term fix" by Moshiri and likely to be replaced in the summer.
Despite what he says, Allardyce doesn't want a long-term job - just the "long-term" money.
A true mercenary, he did the "business" at Sunderland and Palace.
Burnley were a defensive shambles until Dyche arrived but it took 32 games and a full pre-season to sort it out. Don't think Everton fans would have the patience.
Don't panic - Southampton are no great shakes at the moment - we beat them a couple of weeks ago.
If you beat Saints, their Argentine manager may get the boot and Dyche will be touted for the St Mary's job.
I am nearly as frustrated as most Everton fans about the inexplicable delay in appointing a new manager. I had high hopes of Allardyce, then Silva but I cannot breathe easily about keeping Dyche until the Toffees appoint someone else.
Burnley fans are always worried when a bigg-ish club like...
If Everton turn to Dyche in desperation at least I'll be grateful Burnley won't be getting Moyes....that was the strong rumour before West Ham came calling.
