I suppose if Jesse Lingard still has "potential" near 30, then 25 must be a spring chicken?!?...

Whenever Mina is fit he starts. Which will be less than 50% of the season, just depends if Lampard plays 3 or 2 centre backs.

Assuming Mina is still here come window close. Can we afford to let yet another player go into their final year and probably leave on a free? (Mind you, can we afford to offer a new contract to a player who is out injured half the time too).

In my honest and humble opinion, Ben Godfrey really isn’t all that

I found the whole Godfrey thing quite bizare. I sort of sat in silence when he first came as i was listening and reading how good he was. And i thought well it must be me because all i saw was Norwich. I think the season he went down with them they conceded 75 goals. He played most of that season.

Does there come a stage where he is just deemed not good enough? I dunno.

I really want him to be good just because of his pace, build age and attitude, but i'm afraid he cant play the sport very well

COVID ruined last season for him. He never really got going, it affected his breathing. The season beforehe did well at left back, but we need him to perform at CB. He has never convinced me there really.

This needs to stop.

I like Godfrey, interested to see how he would do in a back 3 on the right of Tarkowski.

Gabriel plays on the left of course.

Still no caps for Brazil.

I thought they’d look to move him on but can’t see anyone meeting his wage demands, so reckon he rolls over until contract end and blags someone into one last pay day. Of course a canny DOF could shift him…

Coming into his third season he has to produce in the position he plays. He’s only delivered as a stand in left back so far. It’s a big season for another player who cost Everton north of twenty million.

He looked ok when he first came in at Centre back , gone backwards since.

yeah that last bit is a bit of a bugger when it comes to the whole being a professional footballer thing, isn't it

Hard to sell someone there are no offers for. Mina might want to stay put, see out his year, then go on a free to Spain/Italy. Either that or we offer him a pay rise and new deal.

I would be giving mina an extension for a couple of years, even if he was fit half the season atleast we know he is capable. Nobody will give us much for him with a year left and injury record
