Duncan Ferguson For Leadership?

Would you give Big Dunc the job until at least the end of the season, possibly for the forseeable?

I honestly never get this thing about he or anyone else is a "Big Blue", as if that is good enough for him to be here, get the job, be given a chance etc, that is one of the worst things i hate myself
We’ve only ever won stuff with an ex blue in charge.
We are a weird club.

I’d give a randomly selected person off this forum the job ahead of Benitez. So yeah, Dunc will do.

You're right about Rooney doing a terrific job at Derby.

Far more problems and much greater handicaps than Benitez has faced at Everton. He's had a 39 year old Jagielka playing CB and has got them out of the relegation zone playing positive football despite a 21 point deduction and transfer embargo. And now they've lost Jagielka 'cos they couldn't provide proof of funds for a further 6 month deal. That's the state they're in.

If Everton dangled a 1.5 year deal with further 2 year option or similar it could be a low risk solution. Similar to what Chelsea did with Lampard. People berate the squad but there's more than enough quality to be better than they currently are with a competent manager.
Interesting that West Brom fans protesting to get rid of their Manager tonight and replace him with Rooney, still learning the trade so maybe more suited and if he could get anything out of their board he would be a miracle worker

There's an element of flavour of the month and he's certainly a gamble but I remember being told Benitez was a safe pair of hands who guarantees defensive organisation even with limited resources.

At this point I'd sooner go down fighting with a Blue in charge rather than going down with a whimper with a RS in charge.

Was just about to say that. I think the most negative (because Dunc has been part of the furniture in the last few years, or because he has no management experience) would have to agree there is no other short term solution.

Do they really think we'll get the next up and coming manager or an available Hollywood name right now?
The state of us! Besides Big Dunc will bring aggression and passion and won't suffer fools. Whether he will be the long term answer we will have to put that to one side and try to get out of this mess.

I think the hope regarding Duncan Ferguson is he is learning and picking up tips from two of the most experienced managers in the game in Ancelotti and Benitez.. if he can’t absorb the good things from them two maybe he’s destined to be a number two instead..
now nor never for him. If he doesn’t fancy the job he should move on. Surely his dress rehearsal showed he’s not inept, this squad has talent and I think he’d see us safe.

For me, if we don't give him it, do not keep him here. He came in at the tail end of Bobby's first season. We have never been anywhere near as good since.

Let's not make another manager have to work with him unless it is Rooney... Or just give it to Dunc once and for all.

He will either guide us to former glories due to his passion for the club, or be fail and be sacked. It feels like the latter is the only way he will ever leave the club....
