Rooney Won't Sign

Press conference with David Gill and Alex Ferguson today at OT, 12.30PM.

I'd have him back but wouldn't break our wage structure for him - he's only get as much as the current highest earner. No one player is bigger than any club. He's have to fit in at Everton, not Everton having to fit in around him.

Won't happen, but that's the principle that should and I believe does guide us.

absolutely evilwebby. Its all a little far fetched anyway. We know how much money influences young players - he's gonna want 120 -150 k a week. And it would still be a big obstacle for the fans.

Let him go to City for 60 - 80 million.

Which (if we have the 25% of his next transfer free) would still be a nice 15 - 20 million for Moyes to spend come the summer.

1) A general press conference for every newspaper and the Press Association - at which no one will ask about the Rooney situation, or such questions will be brushed aside by Ferguson.

2) An embargoed briefing for the national papers, where Rooney's future will be mentioned. However the quotes won't be published until midnight tonight (ie when the first editions for tomorrow's papers are published

Wrong mate, its 25% on any PROFIT.

ie, anything on top of the £27m they paid for him, if he leaves for free, well .. i'm sure you know what 25% of that is.

Was that the original contract or the renewed one he signed with them?

What I'm trying (badly) to say is are we certain for a cash windfall? (What is windfall? I'm tired... did I just make that expression up?)

It's all a bit immaterial - His time at Man U is coming to an end, he obviously believes that he has to move away to start enjoying his football again, and to try and save his marriage. If he refuses to sign a contract offered to him by Man U, then they will sell - We coudn't afford to buy him, so he aint coming back home just yet.

I agree with others on here, he will probably endup at Real Madrid, but expect a cheeky bid from Chelski.
I would have him back - but in reality that time is way off in the future.
