VAR

Video isn't a problem, it's the referees being assisted by it.

Out of VAR, only the V bit works. So, yeah, VAR as a whole doesn't work and for as long as opinion is valued in football, it never will.

I personally think its a failed experiment and we should just go back to football with 3 subs max and no outside officiating influence.
I think there are certain things that VAR is good for, such as deciding if the ball has crossed the line for a goal. Or in other countries there is tech that can be used for offsides which the PL doesn't use for some reason. But if referees have an agenda it doesn't matter if there is VAR or not

The people running VAR have way to much power .. They are influencing games with Poor / questionable decisions .. lots of people gaining and loosing from these decisions especially in the sport betting world .. this needs to be stopped before the game is completely ruined …

For all those saying cancel VAR, this is what officiating for the big clubs looks like without it. You’ll never see an offside given against Salah or Fernandes ever again without VAR. The technology is no problem, it’s the corrupt refs using it to fix games which is the issue.

John Terry diving to save a goal with his hands going ignored

Steven Gerrard getting parties for ‘intent to foul’ even when no contact

United having goals disallowed against them when the ball is 3 yards over the line

City scoring against us from a ball about 5 yards out of play

This is the world without VAR and Pigmol would be desperate to go back to it, desperate.
But that’s what happening now , how often are the big teams on the wrong side of a VAR ? I don’t mean when they play each other I mean when they play wolves , palace , West Ham or us . The answer is they aren’t , on the rare occasions something goes against them it’s by mistake like the spurs RS match and we’ll never hear the end of it . Blatant fouls , penalties, red cards and even questionable offsides are all ignored sometimes on occasion because we’re told ‘the cameras aren’t working .’

The introduction of VAR appears to have had only one aim to allow those in authority another opportunity to grant /disallow a goal , give a penalty or award /rescind a red card that assists a top 6 club that the ref that he failed to grasp first time . It’s been of no benefit to anyone outside the top 6 or 7 and it sucks the very life out of the game . It’s bad enough in the stadium , the one place you could go and try to have those occasional seconds of joy but they’ve stolen that . even on tv now the game as a spectacle is becoming close to unwatchable.

A few wins last month felt almost pleasurable but in the last four or five years how much football have you actually enjoyed ? In the distant past I’ve lost relationships over football and my dedication to Everton and to watch this corrupt soulless ‘product ‘ that’s forced down our necks I find myself questioning my very sanity back then .

VAR is horrific and just another symptom of the destruction of the game .

Terry's blatant offside goal against us in the last minute. Only gets given cause it's Chelsea.

A lot of games recently are being remembered for what’s happened in stockley park, rather than on the pitch.
Which was my point. It’s almost happening weekly; in reality, it was almost happening daily at once and still does feel like this from time to time.

There’s always been issues with officiating for as long as I can remember watching Everton, but it’s never felt this prevalent or as serious in the game.

Maybe VAR brings it to the attention more, or maybe the level of incompetency has grew and the excusable mitigation has dissipated. Maybe both.

It's just the implementation of VAR that needs to be changed. We have goal line tech, CL have offside tech that appears to work that could be brought in...after that VAR should only get involved if it's a clear and obvious mistake, not see it five times and think erm.. Just the howlers need correcting. Anyone that can't follow this and flags debatable situations gets kicked off duty for a month, no pay.

The problem with VAR is the people using it.

VAR needs to be clear and instructed how decisions are made. Rugby, NFL, Tennis and Cricket nail this but the biggest game in the world in the biggest league of the game has totally fooked it.

Ask yourself why?

Refs want this gone I am convinced of it because they lose control of how they want to ref the game.

They have purposely controlled the audio and bent the rules of the game to make decisions to suit them.

How many times do you see a "check" made and within seconds it's over and you have no idea who, what or why it has been made or reviewed.

Why is one foul, a foul but in another game not a foul? Why can a video ref see a red but not reviewed a second yellow card which is a red?

We should be employing the best refs in the world to run VAR and if they get it wrong, get rid like any other job but it's all in house and mates looking after mates.

How many times have we had an apology but still never get the decisions next week or later? It costs roughly £2.2m a position so how much have we lost due to these clowns?

Nothing happens to them but we get screwed all season. Why hasn't Howard Webb been sacked? Why hasn't a ref been binned? Because they look after their own. You don't think another ref will come in and do their job? No consequences so nothing changes.

Time we called this out

Football was fantastic for over 100 years there was nothing wrong with it, why try to change it.

What worries me is when you hear the likes of Gary Neville criticising it but then saying it’s not going anywhere (VAR) it’s here to stay.

It’s not going anywhere it’s changed and not for the better. But Im in the minority as English football has never been so popular.
I agree, It’s never been so popular for the wrong people though!

The fans from all clubs are pissed with it and one of the great spectacles of the the PL is the full stadiums, fans from all clubs could put a stop to it by not attending, it won’t happen though

As Woy said - straight leg in with studs up is technically dangerous.

Which they are right.

However, the fact is, if tou want to apply that technicality, then tou must apply others, like the studs on betos foot or even the penalty, which although seemingly ridiculous - something less than that has been given yo Salah, etc.
