Where is all the money Gone

How do we know he isn't being backed. I know there is a good chance of him not having the money to compete, but we don't kno that, all we know is that Moyes is annoyed with his peers paying ridiculous prices for crap to average players. Kudos to him for getting Jags for (rumoured)~4million. I am sure he will spash a large amount of cash on somebody HE thinks is WORTH IT.

the point is that we are being out bid by every other club in the prem. the only way we can get a player is if no one is interested. one thing to hold cards close to your chest and another to be out bid by every other team.

syllogism. we need players. players are expensive this summer. therefore we need to spend more than 3 million on a player. irrespective of what koumas and richardson went for... i doubt we would have bought them even in a buyers market.

in world football the surely everton are not looking just at keiron richardson. the lads on this forum could identify some great players for the squad.

pre season has started.. as i said on another thread the reason why last years signings were so successful was that they were in before the pre season games began. like it or not.. faith in blue bill or not... it's screwed up already.

I believe Moyes is doing the right thing by not buying crap for lots of money. I understand your position, but Moyes has done exceedingly well with no money, and he seems to have learnt his lesson on splashing cash just because he has it. I think he will do just fine with signings this pre-season. I am sure Bill will provide the money when Moyes asks for it.

For one, I am still happy Moyes treats the money as if it was his own, and will only buy if a player adds something other than just sheer numbers, to the squad. If that cements his dithering rep, then so be it, at least we won't waste money on players who will fail and wont get a look in.

Well said buddy.

I agree with everything there.

hows about a thread where the individuals with the slightly negative, slightly anti moyes/BK all have to apologise to moyes and BK when the signings are made.

Im all for debate, but when it comes to the crunch fans cant have it both ways - so who is prepared to hold their hands up WHEN the signings are made and say "i was wrong".

as i said in my post and i'm not speaking for anyone else...

the signings are being made too late. pre season has started. by wednesday it will already be 3 games in. i would imagine a player is going to be signed as moyes claims one more is on the way... but for the sake of money it's coming too late. i wonder if the board will wait to see if we make the group stages of the UEFA before getting in a decent signing.

As my son managed to erase my post, I will makje this reply brief as I can't be bothered writing it all out again.

A good pre-season for a new player is preferred, but not required. They are professionals, and I expect them to come in and do the job on day 1, much like me and you are expected to.

bellamy and barton are professionals. still would not want them in the team. the point is team spirit, bonding and practising in a match environment with your new team mates to iron out any creases is vital for a recent signing. buying him on deadline day and throwing him out to play villa or spurs the next day saying go on lad get a hat trick is being unrealistic.

lescott didnt start from the watford game last season, he was nurtured along and then given full exposure.

footballers practice or play 6 days in 7, whether those days fall in preseason or when the season has started they will still be working with and around the rest of the squad.

unfortunatley moyes cant wave his magic wand and get all his target sewn up on day one, yes its nice when it happens, but it doesnt always work out how you most want it too.

i am so far from criticising because we havnt brought enough quality/bodies in, things take time - the jagielka saga - man ures fun and games over tevez.... things take time, we have to accept that.

Finishing 6th last season netted EFC 7million, with the TV money every club recieved this year in excess of 30million, where is the money gone?

DM complains we cant compete with the big spenders but where has the 37million pounds gone (minus 4 for jags)
Did you see that coat that joseph had on on the tele you would,nt get much change from 30 million

the new sky tv deal and setanta extra pays off next summer doesnt it?

theres last seasons league money - sponsorship money - retail and consumables money - and this summers season ticket sales - on top of the extra cash garnered from so many live games. Add to this the fact that the squad was neutron thin so the wages saved on weir, ferguson, kilbane, davies, NOW pistone and wright, all adds up to a lump sum.

money is available, and the bank manager knows prem sides have extra capital as well, so additions to the mortgage or new finance is a possibility also.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Thats all I have to say to the negative ones. be [Poor language removed] real. Moyes and Kenwright are the best thing to happen to this club for decades. Do not be slagging them off. They got us to this point where your overly highly rated expectations are unjustified. These men with Wyness also have raised the expectations of this club and have given us hope. NOW you want to criticise them for giving you hope again. They have got us this far doing it their way. I challenge ANYONE to say they have done it wrong. Long may they continue.

(by the way, POST OF THE DAY suits, nice one)

why, in a million, million, million years, would I or anyone have to apologise when signings are made?

Got to be the most baffling post I've ever read...
