Champions League revamp

Fair play - I know it's convenient for us to think that Liverpool fans are all for this new league - The reality is that they are gutted that it's happening
The reality is, imo, match going reds are gutted. I know lads who have dedicated so much time and money into that club, and they are just being swatted away as if they are of no use anymore.

Fan of Super League idea here.

Kinda boring to watch Sevilla, Porto and similar crap clubs in CL, when you know their limit is QF, SF if a miracle occurs. You know they're there just to participate and get a few extra mil to the budget, they're not there for actual competition.

With all due respect you are just being too...blind, in this instance to realize the damage it would cause.

I mean it’s not the first outlandish comment you’ve made about the ESL, almost as if you’re an ITK.

Was just curious to where you thought it was generally known that PSG and Ceferin were friends.

Also curious to what the perks of “The Super League” are? As you see it as a good thing.
First of all, let me be clear. I have a local team that I support, I go to games when possible. I also visit lower league games, there's plenty of football for me to 'enjoy' on that level.

Now, when I'm watching CL footie, and paying top dollar to watch it (and tie myself contractually with my ISP for years as they're the only ones that provide CL in my country), I want the best games possible. Honestly, I don't want to watch teams like Red Star, Apoel, and similar, holding on for their dear lives for 90s mins, trying to not let in more than 5 goals per half.

The CL is not a quality product, and it's becoming worse and worse each year by letting minnow clubs have an easier route in, and by letting in even 4th placed teams from some domestic championships.

I just want good effing football, if Superleague is to happen, it'd guarantee that. Richest clubs with best players. Fine by me. Bring it on. As long as they don't dilute the quality of the league by expanding.

And yeah, I love the NBA type of league. Would be nice if they banned player buying/Selling in Superleague and instead just have player for player trades within the league.

Btw didn't Everton already told the "propa football" to eff off back in the 1990? You know, Premierleague founders and all that?

only reason why Everton did not say yes is because they never got invited.
Has to be said.
As one of the then big 5 instigators of the PL in 1992, Everton have at least 1 previous historical conviction for looking after...what they thought of at the time, no doubt, as their own best interests and sod the rest.

Villa have already described it as a grotesque concept, Hasenhüttl/Southampton likewise.

Sure a few more have too.

Hassenthuttl was just fortunate that he was interviewed after the cup game about it. We'll be taking the same approach as Germany and the other leagues, the FA will make the statement and all clubs will sign it.

There's nothing for Everton to gain by not condemning it.

The Premier League was just a rebranding exercise that maintained the sporting integrity of the league system.

The ESL is a whole different kettle of fish which will ruin leagues and related businesses across Europe.

Revolting

I don't think we would have.

Why are some of our fans so hell bent on having a pop at the club over something that theoretically could have happened? It's madness.

Not having a pop mate, I just think you're in bit of dreamland if you thank Farhad Moshiri is turning to £3bn to have a club in the European Super League alongside the best teams in Europe. He's building us a £500m new stadium to do exactly that.

Can say for any degree of certainty, but I think it's about looking realistically.

I think the difference is in fairness it helped money trickle down the football pyramid. Not saying it was the reason we did it but this scab league has no chance of any real trickle down effect
