Absolutely not, I'd never heard of him in my life. That said, I've had a few days to bone up. He has an excellent reputation and is wanted as DoF by some of the best teams in Europe. I may not have heard of him when his name cropped up in the press but given the above and what he's already...

I'm far more interested in the DoF appointment than the coach, that will tell us everything we need to know about where we're going. I'd be happy to see us pay someone like Monchi a bloated salary, 7m a year for a manager to right the ship is crazy. The next coach will expect more and rightly...

The man has a presence about him I'll give him that but for what he's achieved so far and the wages being bandied about it's absolutely ridiculous. We haven't even appointed a DoF yet either and depending on his responsibilities that should come first imo. Coaches come and go but the DoF is a...

He sets his teams up incredibly defensively apparently, I voted for him in the poll but having read this http://teamstre.am/1s6ID2X I'm not sure I want him now. We'd be going from one extreme to the other, I think his style of play would bore the pants off most of the fan base.

There's more than enough stuff we could go through that we wouldn't want to keep from Martinez's time in charge but the one thing we should hold onto is the passing football philosophy and not capitulate to the NBA end to end style of PL football played today. Winning the league is only going to...

I think you're confusing tactics and philosophy. Tactics are what cost Martinez his job, his/our philosophy is why FDB is interested in the job, according to his agent. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/may/12/frank-de-boer-leaves-ajax-everton

Absolutely. If nothing else his stubbornness in constantly attacking in winning positions was enough to show his tactical naivety. That said, his negative points have been gone over in excruciating detail over the past 2 years, the same can't be said for his positive ones.

Talk of the new manager will inevitably revert back to what's gone before, be that positive or negative. I don't see why that would bother anyone, it's just a discussion.

Why? There were plenty of fans that had it out for Martinez before he was even appointed because they wanted Vitor Pereira instead (who's managed 3 teams in nothing leagues and won nothing either in Martinez's time) and now they've got their way and Martinez is gone they want it all swept under...

He wouldn't have "asked" for Demba Ba, he'd have put in an offer and had a yes or no. That's assuming he ever made an offer for him. At the time Lukaku was unsettled when he returned to Chelsea but it wasn't until he missed that pen that it even became remotely speculated about that he might...

5 games, very few minutes, tries to hard, looks like a headless chicken and is written off. I remember Mccarthy being written off before he'd played a game for us and he had premier league experience, you'll have to forgive me if I don't write the guy off after so little time in the team and...

Why would you take Lukaku and Deulofeu out of the equation? He signed them. You can't just say he got lucky or that everyone knew, he pulled off the signings. Some of his early signings were stop gaps to cover first choice players if they were injured with the likes of McCarthy for the long term...

Neither Lukaku nor Stones came through our academy, why would you expect them to be loyal? Why would you think that I would expect them to be loyal? If you buy talented youth players from other clubs you're very rarely going to get loyalty, all we've shown them is money and given them a chance...

That in the long run it will make slim to no difference who we appoint as manager. Although I can how that would have been lost in the rambling rant that was my post. I just see the same old thing year after year, decade after decade regardless of the team unless what happens is actually...
